Core Maximizer is a tool to help the game Supreme Commander and Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance to run better on multicore systems.
The game was made to run on single CPU core computers. All the games threads run on one core, one thread. Core Maximizer helps to separate all the different game threads to different CPU cores. This helps to balance out the CPU load a little.
I kind of want to know how it actually works, but I can just guess. I think it helps automate the thread priority and cpu affinity settings that can be accessed through the Task Manager. Small tweeks, great result and a decent performance boost.
Some say it does not work at all, but it works for me. very noticeable in late game at least.
